  19. Changes in 2.00:
  20. 1) Support for more boards and chipsets
  21. 2) much newer version of Microsoft S3 code used.
  22. 3) much faster switching between multiple boards.
  23. 4) bug removed that made Slave screen of TwinOrion64 all black!
  24. 5) system warm-boots on machines that previously caused problems
  25. 6) better handling of systems with embedded TRIOs

  28. Changes in 1.03:
  29.  
  30. 1) Interrupt problems removed
  31.    In some systems interrupts could occasionally get lost. This
  32.    could manifest in a variety of ways, including inability of access
  33.    a SCSI hard disk, system running slowly sometimes
  34.     Most systems would not be affected by this problem.
  35.    A fault has been removed and the interupt problem is believed fixed.

  37. 2) Fast Switching
  38.    On systems with multiple TWIN-ORION 64s providing more than 2 screens,
  39.     the method used to switch between video channels has been re-engineered
  40.     providing a substantial improvement in switching times and thus overall
  41.     performance.

  43. 3) DEC Twin Pentium 
  44.    A number of changes have been made to support the DEC Twin Pentium 
  45.     machines even thoug these have non-conforming PCI System BIOSes
  46.     and have an interlock problem in either their NT HAL layer or in 
  47.     their System BIOS

  50. Changes in 1.02:

  52. 1) Multiple TWIN-Orion64s.
  53.    Multiple TWIN-Orion64 are supported allowing more than 2 screens.

  55. 2) Autocad
  56.    A bug affecting the Autocad TextPad has been fixed.
  57.  
  58. 3) Motherboard TRIO chips
  59.    This release is more tolerant of motherboard TRIO chips. In some
  60.    machines, with earlier versions of TWIN for Windows/NT, a motherboard
  61.    TRIO chip could cause TWIN for Windows/NT to fail.

  64. Known Bugs:
  65.  
  66. 1 MicroStation
  67.  
  68. i)   The initial MicroStation for NT (version 5.00.76.02) runs correctly
  69.      at 8bpp, but draws black at 16, 24 and 32 bpp. Bentley are currently
  70.      Version 5.00.95 runs correctly at all colour depths.
  71. ii)  Early versions of Microstation did not work correctly if "Full Drag"
  72.      is enabled in Control Panel/Desktop. If Full Drag in On, Microstation
  73.       would redraw a view many many times after it has been dragged.
  74. iii) Early versions of Microstation does not refresh the display correctly
  75.      if backing store has been switched off, resulting in numerous redraws
  76.       and very poor performance.

  78. 2. Paintbrush
  79. In 'Virtual-Desktop Mode', Paintbrush does not run sucessfully if it is
  80. not on the left screen.  For some drawing operations, Paintbrush constrains
  81. the cursor to be on the left screen.
  82. We expect this problem will be resolved by BlackHoles for NT.

  86. Restrictions:

  88. 1 Maximising Windows.
  89. In 'Virtual-Desktop Mode', when a window is maximised it ALWAYS expands
  90. to fill the MASTER screen.
  91. With the Virtual-Dektop switched OFF, when a window is maximised it
  92. ALWAYS expands across BOTH screens.
  93.  
  94. In 'Virtual-Desktop Mode' it is not possible to maximise to the second
  95. screen, although a maximised window can be dragged from the master to the
  96. second screen.

  98. Using BlackHoles the user may choose the screen to which an Application
  99. will be maximised.

  104. Supported Hardware
  105.  
  106. This version detects and uses ISA and VL Orion 928 boards.
  107. The base address 0x300, 0x320 or 0x340 is found automatically.
  108. This version should detect and use up to 9 Orion 928 boards..

  110. This version supports as many TWIN-Orion64 boards (PCI) as can
  111. be plugged into the computer, and mixtures or TWIN-ORion64s and
  112. Single-Orion64 (TRIO) boards.
